this is what i will say to you.

hi.
fall semester has started, and oh, has it started! Im taking 16 credits and still working 20 hours a week. let me just say...i am NEVER taking 16 credits again. Its kicking my butt! I am working/studying harder than i ever have in my six semesters here...so i guess its a good thing? but that is why i havent been updating the blog.

Life is great, if you dont count all the horrendous studying. Same ol' married life. Except this semester all of our friends came back:) When i say friends, i really mean family. Winter semester brought us one heck of a group, ill give it that. A couple of us are married now, but its fine. We all try to get together at least every week/other week and do something altogether:)..mostly the activities involve food. bc were fat.

I will tell you that this semester will bring lots of traveling for us, rollenders. Oct 13th is Tyler & Christine's wedding in San Diego, CA :) Then November we drive to Arizona for Thanksgiving at the Rollender house, AND my lopho is coming to visit Rexburg!!! happyyyyy. And finally, in December, we fly to Sac-town for christmas. Its gonna be a nice way to break up the semester i think.

One more week till i can update my phone!! guess what that means.. iPhone for Lexi! finally. I cant decide if im gonna go all out and buy the 5, but we shall see. Anyways, thats all for now.

one more thing. Instagram...so addicting.

The Idaho Cabin.

I dont think anyone will ever fully understand the love i have for our cabin in Idaho.
It sits on Henry's Lake (beautiful). (see picture).

The fam has been coming here every summer since i can remember.. except we havent been there in 4 years bc of various missions and things. so this time was especially special because i got to take my hubs to my special place of heaven!!

some of the things i love about my cabin:
  • sitting outside on the swing and reading a book w/ a blanket on my lap.
  • the silence of being in the middle of the mountains
  • the sound of the bats on the roof at night
  • the creek
  • the slimy goo on top of the creek
  • the homemade bridge across the creek
  • the suicidal mosquitos
  • the stuffed dead animals on every wall inside
  • the 90's circular rug in the front room that you can circle around a million times until you get dizzy an fall over
  • standing on the back of the car on the mile dirt road in
  • the smell outside in the early morning
  • the cows we get to shoot w/ paintball guns
  • the fear of being completely in the dark when the sun goes down
  • the sweet serenity of no internet--so it forces us to play cards
  • the chance to do nothing for a little while
  • getting your feet stuck in the quicksand mud
  • the smell of the 70's carpet that is still there
  • the red door.
  • celebrating my dads birthday
  • the day we spend at yellowstone seeing a play at the Playmill theatre, watching "Old Thankful" erupt, and then getting ice cream at Dairy Queen.

well anywho. thats all. I am so grateful that my fam was able to come up this week so we could go to the cabin finally. I am gaining an appreciation for traditions, and how important they are to each member of the family!
this is also the last time im gonna see my little brother yakub. (jacob) he leaves to brazil next week! ah! where does the time go. im just gonna miss him. he brings a light to the family that no one compares!
this is the last pik well have together (besides the fam ones we took today) before he gets back. God speed brother, you preach to those brazilians!

Mr. and Mrs. Brennan Crist.

Yesterday i had the opportunity to attend a special sealing in the temple. Not only was it the first sealing i have atttended (since my own, 3.5 months ago!) but it was the sealing of two of my dear friends.
Brennan and Julia were sealed August 4th in the Mesa, Arizona temple.
It was cool to go to a sealing that wasnt mine and actually get to hear of all the special blessings and promises that are received.

In the temple, among many of the wonderful things we get to do inside, i think my new and forever favorite is the sealing ordinance. It's an opportunity for worthy members of our church to be sealed together for time and all eternity in the House of the Lord among witnesses who love them. In a sealing, the couple covenants with God to keep their promises of marriage (and others) to each other, as well as the Lord. The ceremony is such a sacred, beautiful experience...but it makes you reflect upon your own marriages and the covenants that you made on that special day. Have I been keeping my covenants to my fullest ability to Devin AND my Father in heaven? Do i strive each day to become a "Devin-aholic"? Do i love him in EVERY capacity?
Brennan and Julia's sealing brought a very special spirit into the lives of the people in the room as we were all able to feel of the true love that eminated from their spirits as they looked into each others' eyes across the alter. I am so grateful that i was able to share that experience with our friends, and that i, too, can receive those blessings of marriage that come with being sealed in the temple. There is so much joy in the temple, and my heart is full when i am able to take part in that joy!!

What a beautiful thing, love is!!

Here are some pictures from our friends' special day. Congratulations Brennan. We are so happy for you guys, and hope that you will make each other happy everyday in this life, and a thousand years after that.

here they are!!

look at that love in his eyes.

Daddy Post.

Since it was Father's Day yesterday, and i am so far away from my daddy, i thought id dedicate this post to him.
    Check out the stache! haha.

Nathan Shaun Hohsfield is the best there is. Its funny, growing up you never think of your parents as friends, theyre just these people who make up all these "dumb rules" for you to follow and curfews etc..But i can say that now that i am (somewhat) of an adult, i have found a best friend in my dad. Its fun to see our relationship change as we grow older and into different phases of our life! He is the shining example of the man that works hard to keep his family together. He is the most handsome, hard-working, forgiving man i know. He is my rock in the gospel. I am so blessed to have him in my life forever. Anyways, Happy (belayed) Father's Day!

Love you daddy. Love, your Button.

Have Strawberries, will Travel.

Last weekend, we bought THIS. ...
thats right. half a FLAT. of strawberries= Devins Paradise.
so we spent the weekend frantically making as much strawberry things as we could!
ps-there wasnt a bad one in that entire box! amazing.

choco covered strawberries
(midnight snack)

strawberry-topped funfetti cupcakes
(happy birthday Janae!)

strawberry smoothies

aaand strawberry shortcake!
this isn't ours, i forgot to take a picture:(

Needlesstosay, it was a great weekend. I think the strawberries gave Dev such a high, THAT is why he called in sick on saturday! As a result, we got to go to Idaho Falls and do some Target /Kohls shopping:) i love when hes home!

Happy Memorial Day everyone!! This weather is not working with us so it might just be a much-needed lazy weekend. Maybe well finish watching Lord of the Rings...I have been craving those movies for a while, and finally got my hands on one of em! just love em.

Funfact: one year ago tomorrow, i snuck downstairs of the Rollender house in Arizona and kissed my handsome husband for the first time. Who knew a year later we would be sitting on our very own couch in our very own apartment...married!! weird. :)

Life update! We are MOVING in august. (just across town). (not out of Rexburg..yet!) We are upgrading to a 2 bedroom so that Ronald Clyde Stanley III can be our new roommate in the fall. I know what you're thinking, its going to be hard having an extra person so soon! But we LOVE our favorite cousin, and we are so excited to have him with us! I will be excited to have someone at the house with me when Dev is at work. Not to mention an extra mouth to eat all the food I have been making!! so. its happy.

My Fast Grad app was accepted! You know what that means? Only 3 more semesters (straight) then a couple internships for the Social Work program, and Im outta here!! the end is in sight and I could not be happier.
Dev is doing good, too. Did you notice his hair? I pinned him down on Saturday night and shaved it all off! (okay, not really) We bought clippers and it was consensual, haha. I love that boy with short hair! ...i also love when he sleeps. :)
isnt he precious :)
so tired!!!
okay thats all. Have a great day everyone.

Hello!

So ill post some North Carolina piktures later. but right now im at work (dont tell the boss im blogging!) And i decided to update this little guy.
(so many things have happened. i dont know how some people can do this everyday!!)
but for now, heres some funny phone pictures from the last week or so..

I babysit Devin's cousin's babies on Wednesday mornings so she can go to school (connor is almost 2 and paisley is 2 months..they are so precious!) This week Paisley fell asleep on my chest while we were watching Barney! (see pikture below) I dont know about you, but i think having a baby fall asleep on your chest is just about the greatest thing ever. shes helping me with my baby-eidis :)

This is usually how Connor watches Barney..hes gotta be busy all the time!

This is my FAVORITE picture...i was just going to take a picture of her but i caught her in a sneeze! haha!

Last night we had our neighbors, Reggie and Janae, over for dinner and some games. (then we saw Avengers..ittttt was great) We ended up playing some Jenga. Reggie and Devin decided to be daredevils...they called it "making it fun" by taking out the sides first! Needless to say, Janae and I hated taking our turn after them. It was the most intense game yet! We had fun though, Im glad we have some married friends to hang out with us at the apartment!

Poor guy, he was so tired :) i love my daddy!!
