sometimes we like to pretend.

sometimes dev and i like to pretend that were young, wild and free.
and that we can drive to provo (4 hours) to go to an Imagine Dragons concert on a school night...and then drive back.
it was an AMAZING show..dont regret it. we just cant do it again. were too old and sleepy!

Life is one big adventure, and im so happy to be spending it with this guy! Hes my best friend.
There was a lot of waiting around in the beginning before they came out..(standing)<-- were too old for that too. ;) But then they came out and it was great! We were on the floor in the middle of it all.
During "Radioactive" Dan went up on a harness and beat that big drum thats hanging just above him to the left...it was so cool. Also i thought this picture was so funny because it looks like hes shooting stuff out of his mic while standing on the sun! haha. its magic.
this is 3:36.....AM. Thats what time we got home. asleep by 4. then i had to wake up and take a test at 10....its gonna be a long day! haha.
Thats enough partying for us this semester, though. Despite what you might think, Dev and I are both still doing well in school! The semester is plugging along, and we are happy. Grateful that we can have these crazy adventures together and pretend that we arent old:)

Camping

Its finally starting to get warmer here in the iceburg. So, of course ive been tanning in the patch of grass thats behind our apartment.
and of course ive been outside riding my long board pretty much every possible second i can.
but one of the best things about summer...is the camping. and the fires. and the marshmellows
i love me a good, golden marshmellow over a fire.
i can eat 10..its happened.
last week we were all (the Rollender's/stanley's + Blake) planning on going camping.
then we looked at the weather.
it was supposed to storm all weekend long..so we got discouraged and literally went back and forth about 50 times..cus i like to plan things.. haha.
But! We ended up going at the last second and it didnt even rain until we were making our breakfast burritos the next morning!
No pictures cus my phone was dead, woops!
I love camping, especially with great people. We sat around the fire and talked and snuggled and it was the greatest! there's something about being outside in the woods under the stars that makes you grateful for your life, the air youre breathing, and the gospel youre living.
Its a great day to be alive, people.

**ps. 63 days until summer..just in case you were wondering!

22!

Ive had Taylor Swift in my head ALL weekend long... but yes! I am 22 now..
I got to spend the weekend in Utah with my love. We went to Devins cousin Steven's wedding in the Jordan River Temple on Saturday and a reception that afternoon. Afterwards we went out to ice cream and pretty much threw up from being stuffed with meal after meal the entire 24 hours haha.
I just love weddings! Especially those i get to attend in the temple. The sealing power is real. And it is wonderful! Cant wait for more weddings this summer:)

(left to right: James, Alexia, me, Sophie, and William)

Everyone meet the Hansbrows. I wish i had digital copies of pictures from 14 years ago when i met this sweet family. (it was a lot smaller back then, just alexia!) I fell in love with this little 6 month old baby girl when they moved into our ward. I was 9..what a weird thing for a 9 year old to love a baby?!
But i did.
Shes the reason for my chronic baby-itis.
From then on i spent the summers helping her mom (heather, pictured below) with daycare and hangin out/babysitting. Heather is an amazing photographer and took Dev and I's enagagement/wedding pictures, too.
I love this family. I always will!
Sunday we went outside to enjoy the beautiful weather.
Its so weird watching someone grow up. Im starting to get a sense of what its gonna be like to be a mother. Watching alexia get so old makes me feel old and i just want all my babies to stay little forever!!
They were trying to catch the bubbles with their mouths.. haha.

theres the crazy cat lady in her rocking chair!

the kids wanted to do a spitting contest.. its so much more fun than youd think. haha. (devin came out at the 11th hour and dominated. stud.)
i love this one. everyone is just so happy :)

James is always crackin jokes. Alexia goes by Lexi now..so we were team Lexi all weekend! :)
 always posing.

Heather tried out a new pinterest idea...stacked ice cream sandwhiches covered in whipped cream.. it was DELICIOUS. just what i needed..more ice cream :)

 this is my excited face.
thank you, heather, for marrying kevin and making these four beautiful children and for sharing them so willingly with me! You guys are a continuous example of love and patience and wonderful, amazing parents.
This is what its all about, people.
You know youre old when all you need on your birthday is a good day full of family, friends, and ice cream:)

ps. Devin got us some long boards for my birthday! Cant wait till this wind stops blowin so we can use and abuse them!!

Anniversary Getaway.

Well. Since we made it through the first year (like we had any doubts!) we decided to spoil ourselves and really go away to celebrate.
We had never been to the Lava Hot Springs up here, and its apparently one of the things that everyone needs to do whilst in Eastern Idaho. So we decided to go to Lion's Gate Manor in Lava Hot Springs.
Its a themed little Bed and Breakfast.
We stayed in the Phanotom's Lair. Its in the basement. It was amazing.

Just posing with the Phantom ghost in our mirror..

shoot. theres a cool spiral staircase that is hidden behind the bookshelf on the left..documentation fail.

the water for this bathtub came out of the ceiling. and it had light therapy.

(were messy.)

the room included a private theatre room!
If anyone needs a getaway, i highly recommend this one. They gave us free passes to the hot springs, which is located only 3 mins away from the B&B. Oh and the breakfast was wonderful, too!

the view from the deck upstairs

After an great night relaxing, and a delicious breakfast, we were off to the Hot Springs!
Hot Springs were cool! I wish we couldve stayed in them for longer...but at a certain point we just got too hott! haha.

One of the coolest things about being married is that you always have your best friend to go on adventures with. Devin has been the best adventure partner these past couple years of being in my life! I love him with all my heart!!

#1!!

LATE POST.
Devin and I have officially been married a year! (April 13th) YAY us! My love surprised me with a beautiful bouquet of flowers that (satur)day! We worked in the morning and then went out to dinner at this new place in Rexburg called The Hickory. It continues to impress us the more times we go! mm. food.
I love my man! Hes my whole world, and i couldnt have asked for a better life that he has given me.
One year down, eternity to go!

Do you ever just get the giggles in church? This day i had to document.. because it was unstoppable. Right during sacrament (the quietest part of church!) Devin leaned over to whisper something in my ear and we banged glasses! Needlesstosay we both lost it...it was awkward. Grateful that hes my best friend!!

Just a small something.

So this video was included in the devotional speaker's talk today.
I am so grateful to have the opportunity to attend a school that is flooding with the spirit of the Lord.
I loved the speaker's message on relying on Heavenly Father through our trials-He truly is our Savior and redeemer. I know I definitely needed to be reminded of this simple message.
I know this church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is led by God, and that our prophet Thomas S. Monson is a seer and revelator for us on earth today.  I know that the world sucks, but Heavenly Father has a plan for it all-so if I talk to Him daily and rely on Him, I can take on anything that comes my way.

Vegas & other news.

Happy Monday, everyone! After an exhausting couple weeks, i can finally say that i am at the tail end of my busy semester! It is such a relief to plan your week and not dread all the meetings/papers/tests, but to be excited to have a chance to nap maybe! haha.
Here are some pictures from the vegas trip:)

Friday Night: we drove all day and got there real late, but we had to go out and see the sights!
We went out to Downtown Vegas for a couple hours; it was so much fun!
Our friends Heidi and Blake from AZ happened to be there that night, too so it was good to be able to see them. (no picture, sad.)

My first pull-y slot! I lost a whole dollar, but it was worth it!

Christine and I got a Shirley Temple from the bar- we were so excited, but had no idea what to do walking up to a bar..haha.

Saturday morning we woke up and went right out to the strip! We learned really quickly that you can get lost in all the buildings.
The Paris Hotel was my favorite i think. It was HUGE and i literally felt like i was in Paris! Cute little shops, cafes, CREPE' shops! (yummy). It was so much fun to just walk through the "streets" of Paris with my love.
Saturday was a lot of walking. We just wandered through the different casinos/hotels trying to live up every moment. Afternoon hit and we headed over to the Caesars palace buffet! It was a lot of money, but it was worth it. We figured you have to do it once, right? The food was amazing and there was lots of different kinds!!
That was also the day that we all got a huge head-ache :( naps were had, Ibuprofen was needed. Then we went back out to the strip.
Storytime:
I love people. i really do. Let me tell you about my friend, Stephanie. we met at a Blackjack table on Saturday night. She was real drunk. (she had been playing for like 11 hours that day!!) Long story short, she was basically teaching us all how to play smart at the table. It was just hilarious. She even put a couple chips down for me when i was on my last chip! So nice. She freaked Devin out a little, but i thought she was fun! haha. I walked away even that night, but it was definitely one of my favorite experiences in Vegas.

Sunday-

We went downtown and visited the Pawn Stars pawn shop!! No, the guys werent there.
There was a line to get in, but it was cool. This was a super old car, i took a picture to send to my daddy. It was more just cool to see all the stuff they had there that we had seen from the show.
I need to be better at taking pictures if im going to be blogging more often. ill work on it.

Sunday night--MUSE.
Standing in the huge line after we got our matching shirts!

We had great seats!

Muse puts on one of the greatest live shows ive ever seen.. its not just that they're great live, its the theatrics of it all! They had these revolving screens, i tried to get a good picture so you could see. Those screens can move/invert/theyre hollow..so in the picture above, Muse is inside the pyramid! It was just a great show. They had lazers and pyrotechnics as well. SO much fun!

Christine and I after the show:)

Vegas was great. We wore shorts! and the sun was beautiful. We got back to rexburg and it was almost 50*! the snow was finally melted...until this happened..

All within like an hour and a half!

Thanks for reading this novel of a post.
Guess what? For those of you who havent heard...
I will be starting my internship with Child Protective Services in Rexburg come September!
I am so blessed!
It was very competitive, but after 6 interview offers and 3 interviews,  i got the one i wanted!
I am so excited to go out and learn about my field through the nitty gritty that is CPS.
It will be challenging! But it will be so great!
